<p><a href="http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/life/main/5877695.html">Below are a few tips from some experts </a> on how to lend a hand to those going through a divorce:</p>
<p>1) If you were friends with both spouses before the marriage, try not to take sides, especially if there are kids in the picture. Experts suggest remaining neutral.</p>
<p>2) Ask how you can help. Be available to listen or just be a shoulder they can lean on.</p>
<p>3) Avoid comments like, &#8220;Your better off without him!&#8221;  They need the opportunity to grieve and heal and comments like these usually make it worse.</p>
<p>4) Don&#8217;t try to set them up with a new partner to help fix things because the healing process takes a while, some longer than others.</p>
